About
I am an educator of over twenty years who has taught high school and college courses with numerous awards for teaching and academic coaching. I've had the privilege to teach and coach in Richardson, Frisco, and Prosper as well as for Collin College and the University of North Texas. Most recently I have served as the college admissions advisor for a selective early-college high school. As a college advisor, I travel the country touring universities and talking with admissions offices. I also have developed relationships with college admissions representatives from a variety of schools.
My family lived in poverty and had no experience with college. We had no idea how to navigate college admissions and funding, so I missed numerous opportunities and didn't handle my first experience with higher education well. After three college degrees and more than two decades in education, I have worked with hundreds of students on college admissions, written more than a thousand letters of recommendation, and seen the good and bad of higher education. All of these experiences drive me to provide high-quality college admissions advising at a reasonable cost.
I am a member of the National Association of College Admissions Counselors and the Texas Association of College Admissions Counselors. In addition to my college advising work, I work for a school district in the Collin County, and serve as part of the national United States Academic Decathlon leadership team. I am a published author and have spoken at numerous conferences and at the Baseball Hall of Fame. In my spare time, I enjoy attending baseball games, playing piano, and reading.
